Something different ...
The name of this blog is indeed "Mixed thoughts" and I mean, I could sometimes Web-wide world to share with you some thoughts a little less skeptical.
Last year I decided to switch from Windows to Mac OSX and I've bought a iMac. He has pleased me so well that I have the same concern also the mobile version, a MacBook Pro. Now that I have noticed that I have Windows was no longer used (created tax Fuchs from a Mac program), not even for my tax return, because there is an excellent alternative on the Web is, I have the old Windows machine finally placed in the corner. And the running under Ubuntu "workstation" had to believe it. It also ran just fine. yes I've switched to DSL last week to VDSL - Up. What I had not, unfortunately, my service provider said: The VDSL connection is via the aerial socket. Well, in itself a problem, except one: The antenna can is - naturally - in the living room. The computers are available but in the office - right next door. So had to move the router. When WLAN is not a problem, one would think (the size is not my apartment). And in fact, neither with the iMac, even with iPhone and iPad (the things I may hold ...) there is any problem. Only my MacBookPro always denied the connection. In the living room: No problem. Computer-supported work to: Disconnection, and - although the network is displayed - no chance to successfully connect to the router. The reports constantly, the password just yet - in the living room - was entirely correct, is wrong.
another move into the living room: everything ok.
move into the study: Connection terminated.
Conclusion: The interface of the Airport was MacBookPro will hopefully improve in the currently available new version . And I'm going to have to look for a repeater.
Addendum: I have an older laptop first ausgemottet again and run straight through an update to Ubuntu 10:10 Maverick Meerkat, after I found that the old laptop (one and a half years ...) under Ubuntu at least keeps the network connection. Now, if the update still works ....
