I was busy in recent days, help organize the international campaign 1023 in Cologne, so unfortunately I have not much time for blogging - after all I also have a regular job, and the moment to make matters worse, even much more work. Nevertheless, I would like a bit about the 1023 campaign .
What is the 1023 campaign?
homeopathy's critics around the world on 5 / 6 February 2011 demonstrate that in Homöpathischen means this is it, what was claimed. So together we will take an "overdose" of globules. Many people believe so, that homeopathy is a natural medicine. This is not true. Homeopathy is a system of belief. Homeopathy is based on two principles of faith: The
simile principle and the principle of potentiation .
What is this?
The simile principle states that a substance that causes certain symptoms in healthy individuals, it can heal the sick. Anbgesehen assume that there is no evidence for it, we should have a look at how homeopaths find that a healthy person shows when taking certain symptoms. This process is called: Determination of the drug picture. Here, the test substance is administered in a dilution of C30 and found the symptoms by interview. Thus there is ever a problem: C30 means a dilution of 1: 10 to 60 . This is a 1 with 60 zeros. In such a dilution is possible that even a single molecule of the "mother tincture" in the dilution remains. So what is causing the symptoms?
We are then in potentiation : Homeopathy believes that greater dilution increases the effect. And so blithely diluted in proportions in which nothing remains of the allegedly active substance.
Conclusion: homeopathy more possibly because people believe in it.
sense of 1023- campaign is to make attention to that fact. I am of course aware that not even homeopaths claim that their agent of any one active mentioned. Asked about the mechanisms of action, then there are several answers: We do not know how it works, but it works. Alternatively, there is evidence of "quantum effects" or a "memory of water". Unfortunately there is no evidence for the first assertion: cuts In controlled clinical trials, homeopathy does not regularly better than other placebos . And of course this raises questions regarding the quantum speculations.

It is not so in the campaign to prove to find that homeopathy does not work - it is in fact so far the other way around: Homeopathy existed for over 200 years and has failed to conduct a proof of effectiveness. But that in itself can be expected from anyone who sells a cure.
It's about the fact that homeopathy is no natural healing, but superstition and just a homeopathic preparation in the content is not what was claimed to demonstrate the true sense of the word. Finally it just sugar and water.
